The Association of Underwater Activities Rostrum organised yet another one of its traditional environmental campaigns during the Feast of Saint Domnius and the Day of the City of Split.
During the weekend, a dozen divers and other volunteers joined the campaign to clean the seabed at the famous Split beach Bačvice. Many thrown-out bottles, tires, pieces of plastic, and even parts of trolleys and cars, or lost phones are only some of the waste that the hardworking divers pulled out of the sea.Campaigns such as this one not only help preserve the marine ecosystem, but they also encourage the local community to act and to be more responsible towards the environment. Seeing individuals that use their hobbies, in this case diving, to help nature was inspiring. Positive change in society is possible, but it is important to make that first step – join activities such as this one and support them. The Association Biom and the project “Together for the Mediterranean Monk Seal” used this opportunity to support such a praiseworthy campaign to clean the seabed.
Without dedication and the awareness that we are able to make even a little piece of this planet more beautiful, such campaigns would be impossible. Not only that, but the synergy between the associations and organisations that take care of nature and the environment also serves as an inspiration to others to work towards the wellbeing, and the clean and healthy future of all generations.
