Again this year we are taking our members on a bird watching trip! Next Saturday, May 18th, 2024. Bioms flock flies towards Sišćani and Blatnica fish ponds, where we will observe water birds such as ruddy shelduck, shoveler duck and ferruginous duck, common pochard, little grebe, cuckoo, whiskered tern, little grebe, cuckoo, white-bearded tern, black-crowned night-heron, squacco heron, purple heron and many other more and less known bird species.
During the excursion, we will walk along the ponds and observe birds with expert guidance. The trip is suitable for participants of all ages and abilities who want to learn more about water birds. The departure from Zagreb will be in the morning, and after the morning tour of the ponds we will take a picnic-break. Refreshed, we will continue our walk to the nearby forest, where we will get to know forest species of birds. For that part of the trip, we suggest you bring mosquito repellant so you don’t become their daily specialty. The return to Zagreb is in the afternoon.
Since the costs of the trip are covered, the number of participants is limited, so if you plan to participate, we invite you to fill out the application form for the trip as soon as possible. We offer organized transport by bus from Zagreb, and after all free places are filled, you will still be able to join us, but in your own arrangement. The trip is intended for members, so for all non-members who want to join us on the trip, we advise you to fill out the application form, pay the membership fee and then fill out the application form for the trip.
We also invite citizens from around the fish ponds to join us and observe the wildlife of their homeland together with us.
After the registrations for the trip are completed, in the middle of next week we will send an email with more information to the members who have signed up for the trip.
